Who is behind the cauldron
A calculator, not a content farm.
Why this exists
Every Halloween punch recipe online is written for 12 servings, and every year people stand in a kitchen trying to multiply fractions in their head for a party of 27. The multiplication is the only hard part, and it is the one thing a website is genuinely better at than a recipe card.
So the calculator came first and the recipes hang off it. Type in your headcount, pick a drink, get amounts that add up to the batch you actually need.
How the maths works
One serving is 8 US fl oz, which is exactly one US cup. A batch of 12 guests at one serving each is therefore 12 cups of liquid. Each recipe splits that total by volume using parts — Witches Brew Punch, for example, is equal parts of its three ingredients.
Weighting by parts rather than a fixed three-way split is what lets a two-ingredient float and a five-part punch both total correctly. Nothing is rounded until the last step, and the metric switch converts at 236.588 mL per cup.
What has been tested
The calculator has been tested: unit conversion, the 1–200 guest bounds, the chained dropdowns, keyboard operation, and that your plan survives a page reload. Those checks are automated and run against a real browser.
The recipes have not been kitchen-tested. The ratios are sensible starting points — equal parts juice and soda is a normal punch structure — but they are not a guarantee that a batch tastes balanced with your particular brands. Taste before the guests arrive.
Spiked or not, both scaled
Half the recipes are non-alcoholic and half are not, because a bowl that serves the whole room and a bowl for grown-ups are the same logistics problem. Both use the same calculator.
Strength is never a hand-written number. Each ingredient carries anABV, and the finished punch's strength is the sum of each ingredient's ABV weighted by its share of the mix — so it stays correct at any batch size, since diluting the bowl does not change the percentage. Standard drinks per serving is then ABV × 8 fl oz ÷ 0.6.
The figures are computed from typical supermarket ABVs and are rounded down. They are not a measurement of your bottle, and punch served over ice lands lower than the number shown.
How the site is built
A TanStack Start app deployed on Cloudflare Workers, with the whole batch plan stored in your browser rather than on a server. That is why there is no account: there is nothing on our side worth keeping.
The privacy and affiliate page explains exactly what is and is not stored, and how equipment links are disclosed.
